‘Elendiger Bär’ & ‘Hallway’ at Landjäger Kürzestfilm Festspiele

Filmmaker Niklas Strahammer will present two new ultra-short films at the Kürzestfilm Festspiele 2025.

Both films—Elendiger Bär and Hallway—feature original sound and music by long-time collaborator Michael J. Keplinger, and will be screened at the the Die Landjäger Kürzestfilm Festspiele 2025, taking place on 18 June 2025 at Vienna’s Gartenbaukino.

Now in its latest edition, the Landjäger Festspiele celebrates the art of extreme brevity by showcasing short films that last exactly 12 seconds. Despite the format’s limitations, Strahammer and Keplinger bring distinct artistic voices to the screen.

Hallway, an experimental follow-up to Strahammer’s Living Room, stars Gerhard Strahammer as a man seeking inner peace. With abstract sound design by Michael J. Keplinger and lighting by Alexandra Bogner, the film condenses disorientation and solitude into a striking visual and sonic moment.

By contrast, Elendiger Bär offers a humorous interlude. Co-written and performed by Gerhard Strahammer and Dominik Lindlbauer, the film leans into absurdity with full force.
